GMi Companies is a privately owned corporate entity made up of several individual companies. GMi Companies began operations in 1976 as Ghent Manufacturing, Inc.

Since its' founding the corporation has grown to be a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of visual communication products while also expanding into additional product categories through acquisitions.

History of the GMi Companies Brands
Visual Communication Products Group:

• "Ghent" visual communication products since 1976
• "VividBoard" graphic custom whiteboards acquired in 2006

Furniture Products Group:

• "Waddell" display cases acquired in 1986
• "WoodWare" technology support furniture acquired in 2010

These four individual companies all share the same core values that have consistently lead the corporation over the decades.  We believe that we prosper by providing distinctive products and experiences that result in a feeling of “That’s exactly what I wanted!”

In April of 2011 Ghent Manufacturing, Inc. officially changed its corporate name to GMi Companies.  The name change aligns the parent company with the multiple brands within the corporation.  The name, GMi Companies, reflects who we are today and also positions us for the future as we plan for continued growth. GMi Companies will continue to be headquartered in Lebanon, Ohio.  The corporation has two production facilities in Ohio and one in Pennsylvania.
